DaJuan Morgan Interview

Contributing Reporter Scott Porter talks to former NC State safety and early entrant to the 2008 NFL Draft DaJuan Morgan.

Scott Porter: What are your current measurements?

DaJuan Morgan: I come in at 6′1″ 200 lbs and run the 40 in the 4.4 range.

Scott Porter: What do you feel are your biggest strengths?

DaJuan Morgan: I work hard, I pay attention to detail, even the little things. I have excellent range, I am a hard hitter and a playmaker who learns very quickly.

Scott Porter: What is your biggest football accomplishment?

DaJuan Morgan: I would have to say one of the best things while I was playing was beating our rival, North Carolina.

Scott Porter: What is an NFL team getting in DaJuan Morgan?

DaJuan Morgan: They are getting a playmaker who has good range, tackles well, fills holes nicely and attacks the ball in the air.

Scott Porter: What would you like to improve on most at the next level?

DaJuan Morgan: My coverage skills.

Scott Porter: Is there an NFL player that reminds you of yourself?

DaJuan Morgan: People say I remind them of Bob Sanders or Sean Taylor.

Scott Porter: Who has been the biggest influence on you during your college football career?

DaJuan Morgan: My mom has been my biggest influence.

Scott Porter: What made your decide to declare early for the draft?

DaJuan Morgan: I felt I was ready to go, it was time for me to move on to the next level.

Scott Porter: What will you be doing to prepare for the NFL now in the off-season?

DaJuan Morgan: I have been training at API in Arizona, I will continue that.

Scott Porter: What are your goals for the NFL?

DaJuan Morgan: I want to last in the NFL a long time. I want to be a key player for a long time as well as make an impact right from the start.

Scott Porter: Where do you expect to be drafted?

DaJuan Morgan: Day 1.

Scott Porter: Did you have a favorite team as a kid?

DaJuan Morgan: I was always a die hard Miami Dolphins team.

Scott Porter: What are your hobbies off the field?

DaJuan Morgan: My hobbies off the field include fishing, bowling and shooting pool.
