2012 Team Needs
OLB, WR, RT – The Jets are playing much better defense here in the second half of the season, but there is still something missing.  Rex Ryan has gotten by without having an elite pass rusher by manufacturing pressure with his exotic blitz packages.  This year it just has not worked out very well.  Who would have believed that Buffalo Bills’ cast off Aaron Maybin would wind up being the Jets’ most productive pass rusher this season?  Maybin has finally flashed the potential that made him a first round pick.  However, when it only takes 5 sacks from a situational rusher to lead the team, you have a problem.  Pace, Scott and Harris combined do not even have double digit sacks for the year yet.  This team will continue to play good defense, but for a championship defense it needs to get more pressure on the quarterback, especially against Tom Brady and the Patriots.  This team also needs to find depth at right tackle because Ducasse doesn’t appear to be developing very quickly behind Hunter. The Jets will also need to look at adding depth at wide receiver behind Burress and Holmes.  Kerley is talented but they will need more depth and youth moving forward.
