Broncos Pick Up Robertson

by Matt Miller

The Denver Broncos have reportedly completed a trade involving the former #4 pick in the NFL Draft, the Jets DeWayne Robertson. Denver will give New York a conditional 2009 draft pick. Robertson is expendable for New York with the recent addition of Kris Jenkins, prompted by the team’s move to a 3-4 defense.

This means very little for the Jets draft plans, other than they have a lot more money to spend on their draft picks. The Broncos on the other hand, have filled a need at tackle which was potentially going to be filled at #12. Denver has many needs, including offensive tackle and wide receiver, which they hope to address by being very active Saturday.

Robertson is yet another big-name underachieving defensive lineman (Courtney Brown, Gerard Warren, etc) to come to Denver in their attempt to build a defensive line.
