Joe Gaiter: What does football mean to you? 

Jimmy Daniels: Football mean alot to me it was my second love because GOD is loved first. The game of football save me growing up. It alters my road to success and taught me things about life in general. The game will one day support my family. That’s why it means so much to me.

Joe Gaiter: Where are you from and how was your childhood?

Jimmy Daniels: I’m from Oglethrope Ga small city in the middle of ga. Small city big dreams type of place and my childhood was fair. I didnt get what I wanted but my parents made sure I got what I needed.

Joe Gaiter: When did you start playing football? I started at the age of 7. Pop warner

Joe Gaiter: What made you chose Alabama State as your college of choice?

Jimmy Daniels: I was attending a Juco at first and got recruited here to play on a full ride. My school was getting paid for so that’s what I base my decision off of.

Joe Gaiter: What will you miss most about playing at Alabama State?

Jimmy Daniels: The atmosphere here is so amped up here and the excitement that the fans bring to the table every time.

Joe Gaiter: How has Alabama State changed your life?

Jimmy Daniels: Alabama State didn’t change my life I made the change upon myself because of the things that was going on in my life. Alabama State assisted me on how to better myself and surround myself with positive people.

Joe Gaiter: How did it feel being named Defensive MVP of the 71st State Farm Magic City Classic?

Jimmy Daniels: It felt good. Hard work paid off at the end.

Joe Gaiter: You are an expert tackler explain your methods because you make it seem so easy?

Jimmy Daniels: Well it an instinct thing base off my study of the game.  # 1 rule is that you GOT TO WANT TO MAKE THE TACKLE.

Joe Gaiter: With you being so strong and powerful do you think you might get over looked since you are at a smaller school?

Jimmy Daniels: I’m a praying person and of course I am. I’m so use to being overlooked but I have GOD favoring me at all times so therefore I will get a look.

Joe Gaiter: Do you have a backup plan if you don’t get drafted?

Jimmy Daniels Yes I plan to use my degree to asset me a job in the criminal justice field.

Joe Gaiter: What player in the NFL has your style of play?

Jimmy Daniels I would say Jame Harrison

Joe Gaiter: What are your biggest strengths on the field?

Jimmy Daniels My power , quickness and a magnet to the ball…

Joe Gaiter: What is your motivation for playing football?

Jimmy Daniels My family and the people that isn’t able to play the game. I play for them and GOD play through me.

Joe Gaiter: What are the keys to play your position on the field?

Jimmy Daniels Eyes, feet and instinct

Joe Gaiter: How do you plan on giving back to the community after you get drafted?

Jimmy Daniels My granddad passed awhile back and I plan on doing a football camp at my high school which is (Macon County High) named after my granddad. I also plan on starting a cherish foundation to support the single parents.

Jimmy Daniels:  How would your friends describe you off the field? Funny and love to joke and have fun.

Joe Gaiter: When is your pro-day and combine and how are you preparing?

Jimmy Daniels:  I did my pro day on March 4th and I hired a trainer to prepare me. The training process was hard but well worth it and I was happy with my results

Joe Gaiter: Do you think your hard work will pay off?

Jimmy Daniels:  Yes it will and always has nothing come easy and stay long.

Joe Gaiter: What do you want your football legacy to be? 

Jimmy Daniels:  That I was the funniest meanest player to play the game. The game was good to me and I will always love it and show it love by not disrespecting it by taking anything for granted.

Joe Gaiter: Final Words?

Jimmy Daniels:  I want to give my first lady, my mother. A shout out for being there for me when the tough times came and she stood by my side even If I was right or wrong. Shout out to my #1 fan my dad for the support and being there as well.  When I get to the league I know everybody gone be asking how and why I stayed under the radar so long and where I been because the game missing players like me. I gone tell them I’ve been looked over all my life always been an underdog in everything I did growing up. I’m only 6 ft 260 but my HEART is bigger than anyone can imagine.
