Scott Porter: What do you feel are your greatest strengths?

Earl Okine: I feel my greatest strengths are my initial bust off the ball. I get off the line well and I have very good strength. I have the physical tools to work with and develop and I have a very high upside.

Scott Porter: What are your goals for the NFL?

Earl Okine: My main goal is to be the best I can be. I want to reach my full potential. After I do that I want to be All-Pro. If I work hard and reach my full potential I think I can get there.

Scott Porter: Is there an NFL player that you model your game after?

Earl Okine: Carlos Dunlap of the Bengals. A former teammate of mine at Florida. I also model my game after 49ers DE Justin Smith. I know I am a more tall and rangy DE but they love to bull rush. I watch them a lot when I can to pick up things from their game.

Scott Porter: Why should an NFL team give Earl Okine a chance?

Earl Okine: Because at Florida I never reached my full potential and the best of me is to come. I was part of a rotation at Florida. I played well and we played well as a unit, but I think the All-Star game I played in showed what I can do individually. I made a lot of plays on defense and won the MVP. I had a great game.

Scott Porter: What will you miss most about college football?

Earl Okine: I will miss my teammates. We had a brotherhood at Florida. We are all still very close. Even if I can’t see my former teammates every day I am still talking to a lot of them throughout time and keeping in touch. I miss the game day atmosphere already.

Scott Porter: What will you be doing from now until the NFL draft to prepare yourself?

Earl Okine: I am working out in Tampa with Josh Cooper strength and speed. My back wasn’t 100% last year and I feel I am really improving myself through my off-season training. I am going to be ready. I am finally healed from my back issue. I am much more explosive now and I am working on everything. I am healthier and a much more complete player now.

Scott Porter: What hobbies do you have off the field?

Earl Okine: I don’t do much. I like to watch movies. I like to hang out with my son and grab a bite to eat. I really don’t do much off the field.

Scott Porter: What are you looking forward to the most about your opportunity in the NFL?

Earl Okine: I am looking forward to being competitive. I am looking forward to proving people that I am a great football player. My game has a hint of old school in it as I like playing the run, but I want to show them just what I am capable of doing. Whatever I can do to help a time win. I am looking forward to helping a team win in anyway possible.
