Check below as we interview Nevada CB Khalid Wooten.

Scott Porter: What do you feel are your greatest strengths?
Khalid Wooten: I would have to say my speed and my intelligence for the game.
Scott Porter: What are your goals for the NFL?
Khalid Wooten: Of course everybody wants to start in the NFL but to also put my name out there and be a productive player for whoever I play for. It is about wins but rings also.
Scott Porter: What do you feel are your great accomplishments football wise?
Khalid Wooten: 2010 bowl victory over Boston College when I got the game winning interception to seal the victory. Leading the team in INT’s 3 years out of 4 and last was being invited to the East/West shrine game where I also had a INT toward the end of the game against Colin Klein.
Scott Porter: Who has been your biggest influence throughout your football career?
Khalid Wooten: I would have to say God and my parents. If it wasn’t for them none of this would be possible. They are the reason why I have had a successful career in college and hopefully carry that into the NFL.
Scott Porter: You were invited to play in the Shrine bowl this year. What did that mean to you and how has that experience been so far?
Khalid Wooten: It was a blessing to be invited to the shrine game. To be one of the top seniors in this class to represent the west was an amazing experience. Also, the opportunity to be able to talk to other players that are chasing the same dream as I am was, was good. but that experience was a good one overall.
Scott Porter: Tell us about Khalid Wooten the football player, for those who have not seen much of you what would you tell them?
Khalid Wooten: That I can do it all! Played QB and FS in high school and when I got to college played corner, PR/KR and holder. So i would say I am a versatile player when it comes to football.
Scott Porter: What are your hobbies off the field?
Khalid Wooten: I like to play pool, bowling and video games. Chill with the family and friends.

Scott Porter: What will you be doing from now until NFL draft time to prepare yourself for the NFL?
Khalid Wooten: I will be attending the API in Carson, California, preparing myself for the NFL combine and pro-day. Working on some of my weaknesses and making them into strengths.
Scott Porter: What striked your interested in the game of football?
Khalid Wooten: Ever since I was a child I was always into sports but football was the sport I fell in love with. Watching it on TV and seeing the lifestyle that they lived I wanted that so I could be able to provide for my family when that day comes. Football was the sport where I could showcase my speed.
