Scott Porter: What do you feel are your greatest strengths?

Derek Moye: I feel that my greatest strengths are my size at 6’5”. That combined with my ability to go up and catch the ball at its highest point. I use both of those to my advantage.

Scott Porter: What are your goals for the NFL?

Derek Moye: One of my goals is to get drafted. It would mean a lot to me to hear my name called on draft day. After that I obviously want to make an NFL roster and contribute. A goal of mine is to start within the first two years. I want to grow from there and show that I can step in and make an impact.

Scott Porter: What had you interested in football at a young age?

Derek Moye: I come from a football area and a football family. I grew up around a lot of football. Everyone around me played. My big brother played and I wanted to be like him. I played the same position as him and I knew at a young age that this is what I wanted to do.

Scott Porter: Is there an NFL player that reminds you of yourself?

Derek Moye: I would say Sidney Rice of the Seahawks. We have a similar build. He is tall and a bit on the skinny side but makes plays. We have similar ability and I hope I can prove that I can come in to the league with the same production as he did.

Scott Porter: What hobbies do you have off the field?

Derek Moye: Chillin, playing video games and basketball.

Scott Porter: What are you looking forward to the most about your opportunity in the NFL?

Derek Moye: I am looking forward to living out a dream. I came from a football family and this is something I have been wanting since an early age. It has always been a dream of mine to be in the NFL. It is mind blowing to be in this situation and I can’t wait.

Scott Porter: What type of person is an NFL team getting in Derek Moye?

Derek Moye: I think anyone who knows me would tell you that I am a soft spoken person but I would do anything to help anyone out. I am a very kind and caring person. I enjoy helping people out in need work very hard on and off the field.

Scott Porter: What are your greatest accomplishments?

Derek Moye: I think getting the opportunity to play at Penn State is a great accomplishment. Playing under the great coach Joe Paterno. Not many people can say that had that opportunity. Playing here was the high point of my life and I want to build off of that to reach other goals that I have in mind with my playing career.
