San Diego State, Linebacker, Miles Burris was selected to participate in this seasons NFL combine. Burris finished 4th in school history in career sacks and ranked 8th in the country this year in tackles. Scott Porter: What do you feel are your greatest strengths?

Miles Burris: I feel my greatest strengths are my versatility and athletic ability. At San Diego State the defense allowed me to play all over the field from inside to outside, outside the box, inside the box, blitz, cover, I supported everything. I can play many different spots and I think that helps me a lot.

Scott Porter: What did getting invited to the NFL combine mean to you?

Miles Burris: It was an honor. It will be a great opportunity for me to showcase my ability on how I test and interview with the scouts. I am looking forward to proving myself and helping my stock. I am very excited as this has been a life long dream of mine. All 32 teams were be represented there so it will be a great experience.

Scott Porter: What are your goals for the NFL?

Miles Burris: My goal is to continue to play football for as long as I can. I knew when I was in 5th grade that I wanted to play professionally. So I want to play until I am told I can no longer play.

Scott Porter: What type of person is an NFL team getting in Miles Burris?

Miles Burris: I believe they are getting a great person. I am more than just about football. God has blessed me to play and I have great character. I work hard for anything I earn. I want to use my platform to benefit others.

Scott Porter: What are your hobbies off the field?

Miles Burris: I like music. I like film in general. I am a big movie person. I pretty much stay low key and hang out with family and friends.

Scott Porter: What was your overall experience at San Diego State like?

Miles Burris: It was a great turn out. I am very glad I went to college at San Diego State. I’d never take it back for anything. I came into a program that had been losing a lot and ended with two winning season and 2 bowl wins. It was fun to be a part of turning around this program. Aztecs for life!!!!

Scott Porter: What are you looking forward to the most about your opportunity in the NFL?

Miles Burris: It has always been a childhood dream of mine. I am looking forward to the ability to play the game I have always loved. My #1 passion is the love of the game.

Scott Porter: Who has been your biggest influence throughout your career?

Miles Burris: I’m a christian and have a great relationship with Jesus Christ. He has been a huge part of my life and I am always leaning on him for strength. When times get hard I lean on him. My dad and all of my coaches have been major influences in my life. They have all had a major impact in the initial progress of me as a player. They have all helped me reach my potential. When I came here Coach Hoke had left and I felt I became a much better player and learned a lot from him. He really helped me turn the leaf with my football skills.
