Scott Porter: What do you feel are your greatest strengths?

Tashaun Gipson: I believe my size is a big strength of mine. I am a bigger CB who can also hold his own when it comes to covering fast WR’s and supporting the run. Other strengths of mine include my athletic ability. I pride myself on my size because I have the ability to play CB or S at the next level. I am also a big technique freak. I use my technique and fine tune it all of the time to be the best I can be.

Scott Porter: What goals do you have for the NFL?

Tashaun Gipson: Well first I want to make it obviously. It has always been a dream of mine to play in the NFL and I want that dream to be a reality. I want to be successful and compete and play at a high level. A goal of mine is to play in the league for a very long time and leaving a lasting memory.

Scott Porter: Is there a player in the NFL that reminds you of yourself or one that you model your game after?

Tashaun Gipson: I would say Patrick Chung of the New England Patriots. I watch him a lot. He has a frame similar to mine and he can play inside in the nickel as well as line up at CB and S. He is a tenacious player and can play several different positions on the field. I feel I can be the same type of impact player.

Scott Porter: What do you feel are your greatest accomplishments?

Tashaun Gipson: One that really sticks out to me was when we won a bowl game in good fashion. That was a great moment for us as a team and really rewarded us for how hard we had worked. It was memorable because we won the game in triple OT. It was really big for me and my teammates and I wouldn’t trade that win for the world. That is something I will remember for the rest of my life. From a personal stand point I think I proved my durability and skills on the field. I feel I can grow even more with my upside. I was all conference the last two seasons and that was a great achievement and blessing for me. I give god all the glory. Not many guys can say the started as many games as I have in college.

Scott Porter: What type of person is an NFL team getting in Tashaun Gipson?

Tashaun Gipson: I am a hard worker. I know everyone says that and teams hear that all of the time but I’m different. I lead by example. I am very coach able. I am a good listener, and I am very open. I am never too good to learn. I will lay it all on the line for a team every Sunday. I will give everything I have got when given the opportunity.

Scott Porter: What hobbies do you have off the field?

Tashaun Gipson: Pretty much I like relaxing and hanging out. I like to play video games and have fun with my teammates. I like being a kid and have fun doing the little things in life. I am also big into texting.

Scott Porter: What was your experience like at Wyoming?

Tashaun Gipson: Playing at Wyoming helped shape me into the person I am today. I grew up at Wyoming and learned so much. There were growing pains like anyone has but it was a great place for me. The college experience at Wyoming was one of a kind. I made so many great friendships and I cherish that. I met so many good people here from teammates to coaches to friends outside of football. I had an enjoyable college experience and I couldn’t have pictured myself in a better place than here at Wyoming. I love the University of Wyoming and anything I can do for them moving forward would be an honor. I wouldn’t have traded my experience here for anything in the world.

Scott Porter: What will you be doing from now until draft time to get yourself ready for the draft?

Tashaun Gipson: Right now I am in Columbus training to fine tune my skills. I am working on everything because you can never be too good in one area. I am working on my speed, my strengths. I want to blow up at my pro day and show everyone what I am capable of doing. I want to be that guy that everyone is amazed by after they see me at pro day. I was invited to an All-Star game and that was a great experience for me as I got a week to talk to coaches and scouts which was helpful. I was also listed on the bubble for the NFL combine which I was a upset about not getting the invite at first but it is what it is and I will prove myself so it isn’t really a big deal after I got thinking about it. It is motivation for me and I have my pro day anyway. I am just focusing on staying in shape and excelling at my pro day.

Scott Porter: What is your favorite memory while playing football?

Tashaun Gipson: Oh man, a favorite memory. Picking out one is tough but I would say beating Colorado State my Freshmen season here. Coming here I didn’t know much about the rivalry. To me it was just another game my first year, and we ended up losing that game. However, that is when I learned how big of a game it was for this program. That loss gained a ton of fire in me and I learned to ate those guys like the rest of Wyoming nation. The next year we beat them to clinch a bowl game and it was such a big win for everyone. It was a huge step for me and I will never forget that.

Scott Porter: What are you looking forward to the most about the NFL?

Tashaun Gipson: I would say the experience itself. The opportunity to go in and make a name for myself and live out a dream I have always wanted. Hearing my named called will be an overall blessing. The ability to compete and go out there and extend my ability to play the game I have always loved. I’ve always been a big fan of the NFL and watch it a lot, so to go out there and play at the next level will be a great accomplishment and opportunity for me.
