Robert Alfaro Jr. breaks down the team needs of the Oakland Raiders, letting you know where the team’s focus will be this offseason during free agency and the 2012 NFL draft

Oakland Raiders

The Oakland Raiders are improving the talent level a bit more each year, but need to be more consistent on the offensive side of the ball. Stability in the quarterback position and coaching staff is a must.

Key free agents

Jason Campbell (QB), Michael Bush(RB), Jarvis Moss (DE), Tyvon Branch(SS)

Wide Receiver: The Raiders need a true no. 1 complete receiver. They cannot rely on track stars to translate speed into a receiver as there are more components that make up a true wide receiver in the NFL.

Right tackle/guard: While the Raiders were enjoying a solid rushing attack, top 10 in the league in 2011, there are players on the line that were inconsistent. Look for the Raiders to take a look at an offensive line in free agency as they are limited in their draft picks. Possibly losing Khalif Barnes will open doors for an upgrade at that position, unless he takes a 1 year deal to stay with Raiders.

Defensive line: There were times where the front seven of Raiders had solid games as a unit, but they also had some poor outings. At this point in his career Jarvis Moss is solid depth in the defensive end position. Head coach Dennis Allen has a defensive background and will need to add an infusion of solid players to the defensive line and create pressure like he did in Denver.
