Robert Alfaro Jr. breaks down the team needs of the Arizona Cardinals, letting you know where the team’s focus will be this offseason during free agency and the 2012 NFL draft.

Arizona Cardinals

Cardinals need to decide who will be the franchise quarterback, so they move this team forward. There’s plenty of inconsistency on both sides of the ball, so there are a ton of needs going into this offseason.

Key Free agents: Levi Brown (OT), Calais Campbell (DE), Early Deucet (WR), Deuce Lutui (OG), Richard Marshall (CB)

Offensive tackle: Levi Brown made noise as being one of the few safest picks in the draft that year. He was extremely inconsistent though, having to switch from right to left tackle in the NFL. This is a spot that needs to be taken care of in the draft.

Wide Receiver: After Anquan Boldin bolted to Baltimore, the Cardinals have not found a receiver to put across from Larry Fitzgerald and help take some attention off of him. While Early Doucet is effective as slot receiver, look for Cardinals to draft a game-changer early in the draft to flank outside opposite Fitzgerald.

Cornerback: Patrick Peterson’s ceiling is very high. Has potential to be a great cornerback in this league, but also had his mental lapses at times. That is mainly due from him being a rookie though, so expect that to improve. That being said, Cardinals need a solid veteran corner opposite Peterson, unless there is a corner in draft that they covet.
