Scott Porter: What would you tell an NFL team interested in drafting you? What type of person and player are they getting?
James-Michael Johnson: They will be getting a stand up guy. They will be getting a hard worker who can play multiple positions. I can play on the outside as well in the inside. I have played both while at Nevada. I am the type of player who you can line me up anywhere. I am very versitle. Wherever you put me I will do well.
Scott Porter: What do you feel are your greatest strengths?
James-Michael Johnson: I would say that my greatest strengths are my athleticism and my instincts.
Scott Porter: What are your goals for the NFL?
James-Michael Johnson: I want to make an NFL roster and then contribute on my team in anyway that I am asked upon. I look forward to contributing on special teams and eventually my ultimate goal is to start as soon as possible in the NFL.
Scott Porter: What NFL player do you model your game after?
James-Michael Johnson: Two of my favorite players are Ray Lewis and Jon Beason. I like the way those two move and their athletic ability. I see myself similar to them and thrive to play at a high level just like them. I see a lot of what they do and it reminds me of myself.
Scott Porter: What do you feel are your greatest accomplishments?
James-Michael Johnson: I think having a great season as a player and team is a nice accomplishment. My Junior season we beat Boise State and that was really a high point for our program. That was the biggest win of my career. I also got a combine invite and an invite to the Senior bowl this season. I am really looking forward to that.
Scott Porter: What will you miss most about college football?
James-Michael Johnson: I will really miss being around my teammates. I will miss the bus rides to the games bring in the airplane with my teammates on the way to games. I’m going to miss my teammates a lot. Some of these guys I have been with since my Freshmen season.
Scott Porter: Who has been your biggest influence throughout your career?
James-Michael Johnson: On the field my position coach Andy Buh. He tought me what hard work was and he has really worked with me to train and become a good player. He really influenced me. Off the field my mother and father for always being there and supporting me.
Scott Porter: What hobbies do you have off the field?
James-Michael Johnson: I love watching college football. I love watching any kind of football or sports for that matter. Right now I am watching the High School Army All American game. I am a big baseball fan. I am a fan of the Oakland Athletics. I pretty much like to watch any sports. I play video games but not a lot.
Scott Porter: What will you be doing from now until the draft time to prepare yourself?
James-Michael Johnson: Well I have the Senior bowl and the combine to train for. I am in L.A. Right now training with Athletes performance. I have been working out here and then I will leave for the Senior bowl after that I come back here and train for the combine.
