Scott Porter sits down with small-schooler Jeremy Cunningham for an exclusive interview.

Scott Porter: What are your greatest football accomplishments?

Jeremy Cunningham: In 2009 I was named to the 2008 Junior college All American Bowl. I also accomplished playing in the HBCU Bowl. I lead the conference in tackles in 2010.

Scott Porter: What do you feel are your greatest strengths?

Jeremy Cunningham: My knowledge of the game, my aggression on the field and my leadership skills are my greatest strengths.

Scott Porter: Who has been your biggest influence throughout your career?

Jeremy Cunningham: My mom and dad. Without my mom and my dad I wouldn’t be in this situation. They have been a great support to me.

Scott Porter: What type of a person is an NFL team getting in Jeremy Cunningham?

Jeremy Cunningham: They are getting an athlete first off. They are getting a person who is very determined to be the best at whatever I do on and off the field. I am very serious about what I do, and give 100% effort every day on and off the field.

Scott Porter: What goals for you have for the NFL?

Jeremy Cunningham: My goals are to be an impact player. I want to represent my school very well and let everyone know that Fayetteville State does have a lot of talent out there.

Scott Porter: What player reminds your of yourself?

Jeremy Cunningham: I would say the late Sean Taylor because he played so hard on every play. He played every play like it was his last play and that is what I do. He didn’t take the game for granted.

Scott Porter: What hobbies do you have off the field?

Jeremy Cunningham: I like to spend time with my family. My family is the most important thing in my life. I also like being a positive role model and make sure others around me and others I can influence don’t get off track like a lot of people do. I like to let people know how important making the right decision is. I like talking to kids in my neighborhood and let them know how important school is and making the right choices.

Scott Porter: What will you miss most about college football?

Jeremy Cunningham: My bond with my teammates that I spent a lot of time with. I spent time with these guys during the ups and downs. I will especially miss everyone from my Junior college. Being from a JC and knowing how hard you have to work to get respect makes you that much closer, and you all understand the situation each other went through.

Scott Porter: What is your favorite memory while playing college football?

Jeremy Cunningham: I would have to say getting interviewed after our homecoming game with my family. It was a great experience to share that with my family.
