Scott Porter: What do you feel are your biggest strengths?
Darius Powell: I think my biggest strengths are my burst off the line and my point of attack. I am all out pass rusher. I excel at getting to the QB. I think of myself as one of those special sack artists.
Scott Porter: What are your goals for the NFL?
Darius Powell: First off to get with an NFL team and make an impact. I want to be one of the best pass rushers in the NFL.
Scott Porter: Which NFL player reminds you of yourself and why?
Darius Powell: I would say Colts DE Dwight Freeney reminds me a lot of the same traits I have. We have the same first step off the ball with great quickness. We both love and excel at getting to the QB. I feel his talents mirror my talents.
Scott Porter: What do you feel are your biggest football accomplishments?
Darius Powell: Some of my greatest accomplishments include helping my team advance in our leagues 2009 Championship game. I also feel one of my greatest accomplishments was being recruited and offered a scholarship by North Carolina. Also, I am very accomplished sack artist.
Scott Porter: Who has been your biggest influence throughout your college career?
Darius Powell: My High School football coach Marlon Curtis and Coach Blake at Chapel Hill, North Carolina. I transferred from North Carolina and Coach Blake had a big influence while I was at North Carolina.
Scott Porter: What will you miss the most about college football?
Darius Powell: I will miss the fans and school in general.
Scott Porter: What do you think will be the toughest adjustment from the college level to the NFL level?
Darius Powell: I think getting more football savvy because you are playing against a lot of guys who have played at the pro level a long time who have the experience. I just need to get the things done needed and adjust smoothly.
Scott Porter: What will you be doing from now until NFL draft time to prepare yourself?
Darius Powell: I am training every day with a trainer. I am working hard to get more explosive. I am working in Huntsville, AL with Andy McCoy at a place called Body Creation to get better and work hard to be prepared for my NFL future.
Scott Porter: What hobbies do you have off the field?
Darius Powell: I like lifting weight in my free time, playing video games and spending time with my family.


































































































































































Darius posses the physical gifts that any team would love to have. His has a deep desire to become a better all around football player by focusing on the areas that need to be addressed. His atheltic ability will make teams want to spend the extra time with him to bring him along and be more of an everydown player.
