Scott Porter: What do you feel are your biggest strengths?

Richard Sherman: I feel as if my size and speed are my greatest strengths. I would also say that I am a very smart player. I understand the game very well. My intelligence is definitely strength of mine.

Scott Porter: What are your goals for the NFL?

Richard Sherman: My goal is to be the best cornerback out there. Go to many pro bowls. My main goal is to be the best cornerback in the NFL. I want to be the best I can be.

Scott Porter: Which NFL cornerback reminds you of yourself?
Richard Sherman: It is difficult to say, I guess I would go with Antonio Cromartie. He is tall and lanky and runs well. He has range and covers a lot of space. He is very athletic like me.

Scott Porter: Who is the toughest player you have ever faced?

Richard Sherman: The toughest player I have ever faced is DeSean Jackson. He is a good friend of mine but he is so fast off the line. He is very good and speedy and tough to defend.

Scott Porter: What is the toughest part about playing cornerback?

Richard Sherman: I would have to say the coverage part of the position. You have to have a good feel for everything as a cornerback. You can be in man to man coverage and look up and there is a running back running hard right at you in which you are expected to make the tackle. You have to cover ground and support the run and pass with your back turned and it’s just so much to cover. You have to read and react very quickly. You have to do well in zone, man to man coverage and other coverages as well as support the run and pass at the same time. You never know what is coming.

Scott Porter: You came into Stanford as a CB and moved to WR, how has playing WR in the past helped you as a CB?

Richard Sherman: it has helped me tremendously. I am able to anticipate routed better because I know what a WR is looking for and such. I understand what the offense is doing a lot better from playing WR. I understand the way the QB and WR are thinking. Playing WR has been instrumental on defense.

Scott Porter: What will you miss the most about playing college football at Stanford?

Richard Sherman: My teammates no doubt. Spending 365 days a year with them and learning and practicing with them. You become so close to your teammates. I spent my entire college career with some of these guys.

Scott Porter: What hobbies do you have off the field?

Richard Sherman: Video games, they keep me sane off the field. I play a lot of call of duty and NBA2k live.

Scott Porter: What type of person is an NFL team getting in Richard Sherman?

Richard Sherman: They are getting a very hard worker with great character. I work and strive to be the best and will always work hard to reach my goals.
Scott Porter: Can you describe your style of play for me?
Richard Sherman: I am very physical, I love to play press coverage. I love to disrupt the timing in coverage of WR’s and QB’s. I like to make WR’s feel very uncomfortable out there.
